“We received a lot of feedback from our customers and intermediaries about improving this solution. This led us to include an outpatient benefit that was not there before. As a company, we understand the health of children is paramount to each parent or guardian and we believe in delivering value to our customers,” he said.

On his part, Dr. Robert Nyarango, CEO Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital said the product aims to increase the number of children who can access healthcare through insurance since it allows users to buy at the retail level which means you access it without being linked to any employer.

In a market that has an estimated two million insurance covers, half of them (one million), are children covers meaning there are millions of other children who are not medically insured.
